Electric "Conversions" are cars that have had their gas motor replaced with an electric motor.

Instead of burning gas, you just plug the car into your power outlet in your garage to recharge the car.

Vehicles with electric motors produce ZERO EMISSIONS and pollutants into the air, they are whisper quiet and you don't have to spend time in gas stations.

Currently, electric converted cars need a recharge every 50-200 miles. But, battery technology is improving greatly every couple years now. So, it is likely any electric car you purchase today will be able to go 2 times or even 10 times as far on a charge when you replace the batteries.

Given high gas prices, when you calculate the additional $20,000 to $30,000 you spend on gas over the lifetime of a gas car electric cars are a much more affordable option.

Electric conversion services are starting all around the world and there are "do it yourself" kits you can buy with all the necessary parts.

In 2003 ElectricConversions.com was the first website in the world to show information about electric conversions. As gas prices soared worldwide in 2008-2010 conversions became more popular. We foresee a day when almost any gas car or truck can be converted to electric.

GOOD: Conversion services, kits, accessories and technologies is evolving at an accelerated pace and everything about converting your car is getting easier and more affordable!

BAD: Converting a car is very difficult for some types of cars. Te bodies are too heavy, the engine compartments are too small, etc.

CONCLUSION: Most people would enjoy keeping the car the own and dumping the dirty gas engine. Having an option to simply swap out gas engines is a great aspect of electric car technologies!
